The Russia approves draft logistics agreement with India

The Russian government has approved a draft logistics agreement with India. The draft agreement, now published on the Russian legal information portal and seen by WION , is a key step in increasing operational engagement between the armed forces of the two countries, WION has reported.  A logistics pact, such as the one proposed, facilitates mutual logistical support between countries during various military operations, including peacekeeping missions, humanitarian assistance, and joint military exercises. The support usually involves critical services like refuelling, maintenance, and supply provisions, and increases interoperability.

California sneaks in perks for Same-sex merrages

  California Dems have introduced Assembly Constitutional Amendment 5 to protect same-sex marriages by eliminating the traditional definition of marriage from state law. The proposed amendment aims to repeal Proposition 8’s language, which states that marriage is only “between a man and a woman,” and replace it with the provision that “the right to marry is a fundamental right.” However, the California Family Council believes that the open-ended wording of the amendment could lead to the normalization of non-traditional marriage structures, which they argue could harm children’s developme nt.

US TikTok ban challenge to be heard appeals court

A US appeals court on Monday said it will start the hearings pm Sept. 16 on legal challenges to a new law forcing China-based ByteDance to divest TikTok's US assets by Jan. 19 or face a ban. US lawmakers worry that China could access data on Americans or spy on them with the app. On May 14, a group of TikTok creators filed suit to block the law that could ban the app used by 170 million Americans. They believe banning the app will have 'a profound effect on American life'. Colombia rebels use TikTok to recruit youngsters. Dissident splinter factions of the officially defunct Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) are creating viral TikTok trends boasting glamorous guerilla lifestyles in a bid to recruit schoolchildren to their ranks. An umbrella group of FARC factions, the Estado Mayor Central, now has an estimated 3,000 members; last year 184 under-18s were recruited, while this year 159 youngsters have signed up already.

The top ISIS leader in Somalia was target to US airstrike

A US Military airstrike in Solaliya targeted the top Islamic State leader in late May. But it means unclear if the leader was killed in the strike, according to U.S. officials. Abdulqadir Munin has been identified by the U.S. as the head of the Islamic State in Somalia, an African affiliate of the terror group once know as ISIS. A statement from U.S. Africa Command disclosed that on May 31, it had conducted an airstrike in a remote area of northeastern Somalia that killed three militants affiliated with the Islamic State. Three U.S. officials confirmed to US News Channel that the target of the strike was the top leader of the Islamic State in Somalia whom the National counter-terrorism center identified as Mumin. However, the U.S. officials said it remained unclear if Mumin had been killed in the airstrike.
